Salmon - so good, so simple, so versatile

http://www.stokessauces.co.uk/page/sauces/ketchup-and-saucesSimply salmon

Salmon steaks are the quickest, easiest, tastiest 'supper in minutes' you could possibly have. They're just as good served hot as they are flaked into a salad - if you like salmon of course.

Assuming you do - here are a few delicious ideas to make it look and taste better still.

It's good for you too:
  • It's rich in Omega-3 Fatty Acids
  • a great source of Protein
  • high in Vitamin B
  • a good source of Potassium
  • loaded with Selenium
  • and contains the antioxidant Astaxanthin.

Just add Stokes

Salmon with Watercress Mayonnaise
Mix well in a bowl and spoon onto your hot or cold salmon.

For a smooth finish to the sauce, use a blender to combine all the ingredients.

...with Raspberry & Mango Salsa

  • The zest of half an orange
  • The segmented orange
  • The flesh of 1 mango
  • Similar quantity of respberries
  • 1 tbsp of chopped shallots
  • 1/2 tbsp of capers
  • 1/tbsp of chopped mint leaves
  • 1 tbsp of chopped jalapeno peppers
  • 1 good teaspoon of Stokes Chilli Jam
Mix it all together and let it sit for a while to let the flavours marry.

BBQ Salmon with gravadlax cucumber

This is too easy really - dice as much cucumber as you need and marinade it in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of Stokes Mustard & Dill Sauce. Coat your salmon steaks with Stokes Original BBQ Sauce and grill. Serve with a spoonful of cucumber on the side - and smile.

Oriental Salmon Marinate
  • 1 tbsp of dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of Stokes Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp of Stokes Sweet Chilli Sauce
  • The juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tbsp of soft brown sugar
  • 3 or 4 spring onions sliced lengthways then into 2 inch lengths
  • 1 inch of grated fresh ginger

Combine the ingredients in a food bag and add the salmon steaks to marinade them, then bake on a sheet in the oven having coated them in any remaining marinate.
