'Staverton & Oaks'
Staverton & Oaks at one stage was the intended name for this home inspired creation of extraordinary sauces and preserves.
The story behind Stokes is one of passion and unerring focus on all things good.
It began in Staverton Forest where Rick @stokessauces went running. The Wildlife Trust have officially listed the place as 'primeval woodland'.
It was also here (a few years earlier) that Ethelred was decidedly unready for the arrow that struck him in the eye, bringing him down in the forest undergrowth.
Running in the magic and majesty of this ancient place was a source of peace and inspiration for Rick as he fortified his soul amongst the roots and branches of Staverton.

The name?
Staverton & Oaks
Too long they said, what about St-Oaks!
Doesn't work they said, try Stokes.
That was it - Stokes. The name soon became synonymous with taste, quality and responsibility inspired by an ancient sense of passion and a deep-rooted sense of right.
